Introduction

Fjordrun is a platform for deploying web apps, APIs, workers, cron jobs and databases. It runs on servers in the EU (Hetzner, Nuremberg, Germany). You connect a GitHub repository, pick a template or point at a Docker image; Fjordrun builds the code, runs it on Kubernetes in an isolated namespace for your team, gives it an HTTPS domain and bills the CPU and memory it actually uses.

Private beta

Fjordrun is in private beta. New accounts need an invite. See Beta access.

What you can deploy

SourceWhat happens
GitHub repositoryBuilt by the Fjordrun builder: your Dockerfile if there is one, otherwise framework detection for Node.js and static sites, otherwise Nixpacks for Python, Go, Ruby, PHP and others. Pushes to the branch redeploy.
TemplateOne-click databases and apps (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, MongoDB, n8n, Umami, MinIO, Qdrant, Langflow, Ollama), with generated passwords and connection variables. See Templates.
Docker imageAny public image, for example nginx:1.27-alpine, deployed as is.

How it fits together

  • A team owns projects, billing and members. Every account starts with a personal team.
  • A project groups related services, for example a web app, its API and its database.
  • An environment (such as production or staging) is a separate copy of the project's services with its own variables, domains and deployments.
  • A service is one thing that runs: a web service, worker, cron job or database.
  • A deployment is one build-and-release of a service. You can roll back to an earlier successful one.

Next steps

  1. Get beta access
  2. Deploy a template, for example PostgreSQL, in under a minute
  3. Deploy your app from GitHub
  4. Add a domain and read the logs
