Volumes
A volume is persistent storage attached to a service in one environment. Files written under the mount path survive restarts and redeploys. Everything else in the container's filesystem is reset on each deployment.
Volumes are Hetzner Cloud Volumes: block storage in the project's region, next to the servers. A volume stays in that region, so a project with volumes can't change its region.
Attaching a volume
In Settings → Volume, enter the mount path (for example /data) and the size in GB, then choose Attach volume. Database templates attach one automatically, for example PostgreSQL at /var/lib/postgresql/data with 5 GB.
Maximum volume size per plan: Trial 1 GB, Hobby 50 GB, Pro 250 GB.
Browsing files
The Files tab of the service lists, uploads, downloads, renames and deletes the files in the volume, also while the service is stopped. From the CLI: fjordrun files. See Shell and files.
Growing a volume
Volumes can grow but not shrink. Enter the new size under Grow to and choose Resize. The card shows how much space is used.
Deleting a volume
Delete volume removes the volume and its data permanently. Deleting a service or an environment also deletes its volumes. Keep your own backups of important data (for databases, see Databases → Backups).
Pricing
Volumes are billed on their provisioned size, whether full or empty: €0.10 per GB-month, metered hourly. A 5 GB volume costs €0.50 per month.
